It was only a matter of time before businesses and landmarks stop fighting against Pokemon Go players and start working with them. A lot of this stems from certain areas being hotbeds of activity for the game, and Sydney Opera House is becoming largely known as one such place. In response, the Sydney icon will be officially hosting a Pokemon Gathering on Monday 18th July.
For two hours, the SOH crew will be setting up lures in their spacious Forecourt, attracting all the surrounding Pokemon to the area to help trainers (young and old) build up their collection and become the very best that no one ever was. They make no guarantees on the game servers actually playing nice here (which, to be honest, they probably won’t).
Office workers may not be able to join unless they are lunching around the area at the time. The event kicks off at 12pm and ends at 2pm (well, the lures will be up until then). For those planning on heading along make sure you check out the full info on the Facebook event page HERE.
Sydney Opera House is but one venue getting involved in the current Pokemon Go craze. Over at inner-west pub Abbotts Hotel, the staff have officially declared themselves a “PokePub” and will be throwing out lures all weekend, in addition to having free phone chargers and Wi-Fi ready along with a special Pokemon themed menu. This is all getting rather intense. More information about that HERE.
