Telltale’s Summer 2017 update: The three bombs they just dropped.

The time has finally come! After skipping out on having a conference at E3 this year, professional heart-breakers Telltale Games have finally dropped their 2017 update straight out of Comic-Con and it’s pretty big. In a style similar to Nintendo’s, they’ve released a video announcing new seasons of three beloved titles and that one of them will be a series finale. So grab a box of tissues (and/or a stress-ball), these are the three titles coming out over the next 12 months.

  1. Bruce Wayne’s Telltale story continues.

While I personally haven’t gotten around to playing my copy of Season 1, Telltale has announced that they will drop the first episode of Season 2, The Enemy Within, on August 8th. That’s in less than three weeks! Considering what the third announcement is, I didn’t even think they were going to jump straight into this one so soon.

Season 1 had put players up against classic Batman villians: Two-Face and the Penguin, but I’m super excited for Season 2 as they’re pitting Batman against one of my absolute favourite DC villains (yes of the whole DC universe), The Riddler, while hinting at the possibility of Mr Wayne facing someone who I’ve heard is a rather significant character in Season 1, John Doe. This announcement has definitely gotten me wanting to go and binge-play Season 1. Let’s hope Season 2 starts off with less bugs than season 1 did.

 2. Clementine’s story is coming to an end.

This one was a real shock to me as I’m sure it was for a lot of people. The New Frontier, Season 3 of this series just came to its heart-wrenching end less than two months ago, but yet Telltale has decided that Season 4 of The Walking Dead will be the last of the series. They really like to rip the band-aid off, don’t they? On the plus side, we’ll be playing as Clementine once again, following her search for A.J., her ward who was taken away from her before the events of Season 3, and her decisions thereafter.

Will they finally be reunited? What will Clem do if she finds him? How will Telltale break our hearts in this series finale? We’ll have to wait and see. Episode 1 will be released sometime in 2018.

  1. The Big Bad Wolf is finally back!

This is probably the title I’m most excited about, fellow Mundies. Hearing Adam Harrington do the voice of Bigby to announce this gave me chills. It’s been almost four years since the release of Season 1 and Telltale Games have finally announced that The Wolf Among Us will return with a second season, with a release in 2018. While not much has been said in regards to what the next season will be about, but it seems like we will definitely will continue our journey with a battle-wounded Bigby, sheriff of Fabletown. How far ahead from the end of Season 1 we will be, we are yet to find out.

If you haven’t played it yet, you really should pick up a copy and dive right in. I must warn you, this one has more plot-twists than their Game of Thrones series.

More information should be coming out soon! In the meantime, Telltale has a Humble Bundle sale going on so if you need to catch up with their titles, especially the ones with new seasons coming up, this is a good way to get cracking.
