Last year, James Wan’s The Conjuring terrified us all with its old-school scares and underlying sense of dread. One of the creepiest aspects of the film was the demon-possessed doll Annabelle, which Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga) obtained after the doll terrorised two nurses. After that film’s success, Warner Brothers decided to produce an Annabelle spin-off before The Conjuring 2 is released next year. A prequel that deals with how the doll originally became possessed, Annabelle promises to be another terrifying experience. The full trailer for the film has just been released, and it expands upon the creepy teaser that was released in July.
Here is the official synopsis for the film:
John Form has found the perfect gift for his expectant wife, Mia – a beautiful, rare vintage doll in a pure white wedding dress. But Mia’s delight with Annabelle doesn’t last long. On one horrific night, their home is invaded by members of a satanic cult, who violently attack the couple. Spilled blood and terror are not all they leave behind. The cultists have conjured an entity so malevolent that nothing they did will compare to the sinister conduit to the damned that is now…Annabelle.

Annabelle will be released in Australian cinemas on October 2nd.
