The Australian Movie and Comic Expo returns in 2016 to celebrate its tenth year

This year will signal a decade for the AMC Expo (formerly known as Armageddon Australia) as it returns to Melbourne with an entourage of local and international pop culture stars.

Amongst the guests in attendance this year will be Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Daniel Davis, prolific Game Of Thrones bad guy Dominic Carter and Australia’s own Pretty Little Liars star Tammin Sursock.

The festival, which will run over two days, will celebrate milestone birthdays for Star Trek (50 years) and Transformers: The Movie (30 years) with appearances from guests of both franchises, as well as inviting an eclectic line-up of industry stars to the Melbourne Showgrounds.

The voice actress for Princess Jasmine of the original Aladdin film, Linda Larkin will be in attendance, alongside Melbourne’s Mad Max Fury Road artist Tristan Jones and Australian Dean Rankine (responsible for the Simpson Comics). Adding some diversity to the festival will be NASA astronaut and Technical Adviser to Hollywood sci-fi films (such as Oblivion and Green Lantern) is Rick Searfoss.

The festival will also be running events including the Cosplay competition and the LEGO ‘Brickvention’ construction. The Festival will also be bringing along some props this year, including a Back to the Future Dolorean car and three Jurassic Park cars for display.
