The Russo Brothers to make TV adaptation of cult classic gang film The Warriors

The Russo Brothers – Joe and Anthony Russo will be taking a break from the hype of Marvel reality and will be undertaking a new project in their hands. The brothers plan to create a TV adaptation of Walter Hill’s 1979 cult classic gang  film The Warriors (also based on Sol Yurick’s classic novel).

The TV series will have a running length of one hour each episode and will be supported by both Paramount TV and Hulu networks. In hopes to bring the original film to justice with this modern adaptation, the Russo dynamic duo will be adding elements of grit, pulp, sex and violence to the anticipated TV phenomenon. They have also teamed up with writer Frank Baldwin for the series.

The Russos have been known for their work on Captain America — The Winter Soldier and the acclaimed Civil War. They are also attached as directors to both Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War Parts I and II.
