Umbrella Entertainment and Yarra City Arts announce free open air cinema program at Linear Park

Fitzroy North residents can enjoy Aussie classics under the stars, with a free open air cinema program launching at Linear Park next month.

Running on Fridays throughout March, the project – dubbed Neighbourhood Watch – is a collab between film distributor Umbrella Entertainment and Yarra City Arts. Locals will be able head to Linear Park to catch an iconic Australian flick – and with live music and local food vendors on site too, it’s the perfect low-key Friday night!

On March 4th, they’ve got 90s teen comedy The Big Steal, starring a young Ben Mendelsohn, while footy drama/comedy The Merger takes to the Neighbourhood Watch screen on March 11th. Later in the month, you can catch the 1976 version of family heart-warmer Storm Boy, before the season wraps with psychological horror (and unlikely queer icon) The Babadook.
