Rolling off from the incredible success of House of Cards, David Fincher (The Social Network, Gone Girl) has returned to Netflix for a new series, Mindhunter. In the vein of True Detective, the series follows a a pair of FBI agents as they interview imprisoned serial killers in an attempt to solve cases in 1979.

Based on the book Mindhunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker, the series will star Jonathan Groff (Looking, Boss, Glee), Holt McCallany (Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, Sully, Blackhat), Anna Torv (Fringe) and Coter Smith (X2).
Fincher will direct the series, as well as produce along with Charlize Theron (Girlboss).
Mindhunter will premiere on Netflix in October.
