Sherlock Holmes: Elementary – Ch. 10 – 10:00pm AEST

Have you been watching Sherlock Holmes: Elementary? In a modern twist on the classic British detective story, it takes Holmes to New York in the present day. The adaption stars Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as his partner Dr. Joan Watson. It’s a clever crime drama that is both well acted and well written. This week’s episode ‘Just a Regular Irregular’, from the show’s third season, sees Sherlock help extricate a math genius from an ‘irregular’ network.

Lars and the Real Girl – SBS 2 – 10:10pm AEST

This quirky comedy/drama tells the story of Lars Lindstrom (Ryan Gosling), an awkward young man who fixates on a sex doll he ordered off the internet. Lars claims to have a real relationship with the doll; his sister (Emily Mortimer), brother-in-law (Paul Schneider) and the town are confused and concerned for him. It’s a quiet, sweet film with an original premise and excellent performances.

Argo – Go! – 8:30pm AEST
