With homegrown humorist Wil Anderson hosting and big name comedians such as Seth Rogen, Dave Hughes and Chevy Chase set to star, this year’s Just For Laughs festival is bound to be just as funny as ever.

Madam Secretary, Ch. 10, 9 pm AEST

Fresh out of the USA, this new drama follows the life of recently appointed Secretary of State, Elizabeth McCord (Téa Leoni) as she attempts to manage political challenges along with her personal problems. If you love West Wing and House of Cards, this premiering poli-drama may be just the thing for you.

Zodiac, GEM, 8:30 pm AEST

Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo and Robert Downey, Jr., this psychological thriller will have you on the edge of your seat as these three detectives attempt to track down the ‘Zodiac killer’ and maintain their sanity in the process.

Ghostbusters, 7 Mate, 9:45 pm AEST

Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd fighting ghosts to a killer theme song. Need I say more?

Layer Cake, GEM, 11:40 pm AEST

Often described as ‘the best Guy Ritchie film that Guy Ritchie didn’t make’, Layer Cake tells the story of a ready-to-retire drug dealer (Daniel Craig) who finds himself caught up in one last job. With numerous, twisting plots and a script to kill, this crime film is one not to be missed.

Moonraker, Ch. 9, 7 pm AEST

Starring Roger Moore as James Bond, Moonraker sees the valiant 007 jetting off into space and risking his own life in order to save the world from a global genocide attempt. It’s not quite Skyfall, but this slightly ludicrous film is still worth a watch.

Scarface, 7 Mate, 10:30 pm AEST

The legendary Al Pacino is at his most influential in this classic crime film. Following the story of small-time crook Tony Montana (Pacino) in his pursuit for power and wealth, this film is an intense yet hilarious ride from start to finish.

Precious, NITV, 9:30 pm AEST

Set in Harlem in 1987, this grim film follows the life of an overweight, abused and illiterate 16 year-old who is pregnant with her second child. Her life begins to change however when she is invited to attend a new school. Bolstered by an incredible cast, the tale of this girl’s struggle will leave you deeply moved.

Where is Flight MH370?, SBS, 11:15 pm AEST

It’s been almost seven months since MH370 mysteriously disappeared. This documentary tells the inside story of the search for the plane and how exactly such an unusual event could occur in this modern age. If you were looking for more answers, this program may give them you.
