at the movies

Monday

Castle, Ch. 7, 9.30pm AEST

Tune in to Castle for a tense hour of television as Det. Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) and mystery writer Richard Castle (Nathan Fillon) work to unravel the motives of a gunman holding their colleague Esposito (Jon Huertas), and others, hostage on a subway. It promises to be one of the best episodes of the season, with Huertas taking centre stage.

Tuesday

Robin Hood, Ch. 7, 8:30pm AEST

This 2010 retelling of the classic Robin Hood tale, features a burly Russell Crowe as the eponymous hero and a feisty Cate Blanchett as his love, Lady Marion. With excellent visuals, gritty battle scenes and quality performances, Robin Hood is worth a watch.

Secret Life of the Cat, SBS, 8:30pm AEST

If those YouTube cat videos aren’t quite enough to get you out of your working week blues, this documentary will. Tracking those furry feline friends of ours through village streets in Surrey, UK, the documentary shows through collar cams what domestic cats get up to when they aren’t snoozing around the house.

At The Movies, ABC, 9:32pm AEST

It’s the end of an era as the final episode of At The Movies airs. Margaret and David team up for the last time, with bloopers, interviews and their final film recommendations. It’s a must watch to farewell Australia’s favourite film reviewers.

Wednesday

Knight and Day, Ch. 9, 8:30pm AEST

This frothy, but fun film stars Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz at their comedic best. A young woman (Diaz) gets caught up in the world of an eccentric, disgraced spy (Cruise) and together they end up running across the globe. Fast-paced and surprisingly hilarious, it’s an up-beat film that will make you laugh.
