Win a double pass to Oz Comic-Con presents Christopher Lambert – Q&A session and a screening of Highlander in Melbourne

In a special event in Melbourne presented by Oz Comic-Con, Connor MacLeod himself, Christopher Lambert, will appear live to introduce the classic Highlander and participate in a pre-film Q&A at the Astor Theatre in St Kilda.

The freewheeling, time-travelling epic, directed by Australian filmmaker Russell Mulcahy, was a modest success on its initial release but has developed into a cult favourite packed with quotable lines, and punctuated with stylish sword-fighting and a rousing soundtrack by Queen.

Its interweaving story line flits from New York of the 1980s to World War II but has its dramatic origins in the 16th century Scottish Highlands where Connor MacLeod (Christopher Lambert) first discovers he is not like other men. After engaging in a battle with a rival clan, he is stabbed by a strange mercenary fighter called The Kurgan (Clancy Brown) but finds that he cannot die. Befriended and trained by the foppish yet skillful Juan Sanchez Villa- Lobos Ramirez (Sean Connery), he finds out he is part of a group of immortals who must fight until there is only one left alive. This screening of Highlander coincides with the film’s 30th anniversary, celebrating one of the great action-fantasy romps of the 1980s.

The screening takes place at the Astor Theatre on Sunday July 2nd at 8.30pm and to celebrate we’ve got a double pass to give away. To enter just fill in the form below. Competition closes on Friday, June 30th at 3pm.
